Turner Falls, Davis, OK.
August 2022

In August we took my (under construction) cargo trailer / camper conversion on it's maiden voyage, 3 hours North West, to Turner Falls in Davis, OK. The original plan was to camp along the Guadalupe River outside of New Braunfels, TX as a late birthday trip, but the drought conditions had the rivers too low for a good float so we went for plan B. The drought hadn't left Oklahoma out either, unfortunately. The falls weren't nearly as impressive as they often are, and some of the parks' activities were closed, such as the slide and diving boards at the Blue Hole, but we still had plenty to keep us busy. In addition to camping, the park features miles of hiking trails through rugged rocky terrain, beautiful views, waterfalls, caves, shallow creek areas perfect for wading and cooling off in, and the Collings Castle historical site. By the end of the 3 day weekend, we were sufficiently water logged, sunbaked, and jelly legged.

This overlook point is accessible outside the park, just off the highway.
