example: Mudkit squeaked in surprise as a pair of white paws tapped him on the snout. Shrinking back into the nursery for a heartbeat, his eyes wild, he caught sight of a furry black shape bounding away through the snow. Toadkit! "I'm gonna get you!" he squeaked, bounding out from the depths of the nursery and into the center of camp.

What the tiny brown tom wasn't expecting was... cold! With a tiny yelp, Mudkit sprang back, his tail thumping against his hind legs. This was his first time ever outside of camp, but he hadn't expected it to feel any less cozy than he felt bundled up in Bearfoot's nest with Toadkit by his side, snoozing softly. Tag game forgotten, Mudkit lowered his head and stuck out his tongue to taste the snow. It bit his tongue with its iciness, and he recoiled for a heartbeat with surprise, but he managed to nip off a tiny chunk and let it melt in his mouth. It tasted sweet and refreshing, and the newborn kit wagged his tail back and forth happily. "Toadkit! Come here! You gotta try this!"
