Sun:
I am lonely, yet free.
I explode with light, wanting someone to notice me.
A friend maybe.
But who would dare fly to me?
I call the birds, but their wings are scorched the moment they are too close.
Will I always be alone?
I fake a radiant grin until it is my turn to set.
I bring life and they are thankful.
But not enough to come meet me.
I ride the horizon showing off my rare light... Because it is all I have.
Sometimes, the moon takes a peek at me during my daylight, envying my light.
Does he not know how lucky he is?
Surrounded by stars? Surrounded by friends?
To be King of the night? Ruling all those stars?
I ruled nothing but the lifeless clouds before me.
Who was this moon, the mirror my light reflected?

Moon:
Only darkness knows my secret.
I'm like a mirror... Nothing else.
Everyday the stars mock my fake light.
And though I am they're leader, their king, their god, they whisper rumors behind my back.
I change shape, because I have to.
Anything to make me seem cooler, to be respected more.
The sun has spirit, and light!
Oh, light!
Sometimes she'll wink at me as she passes by, she'll look at me hopefully.
What could she possibly want? She brought life!
She is respected as the Queen of day, while wolves howl at me to leave.
I yearn for my own light - I try to glow like the stars.
But they laugh.
And If the sun met me, so would she.
Who was this sun, who generously offered her light?
And when her light fails her, what would become of me?
