John comes along and paints an entire new world for Dave, because before they met he was tight-assed and stressed and tense, and John is like, you should try new things, let’s go stargazing and shit, so they do. Dave sees things in different lights and notices things he’s never seen before, and takes his shades off in a metaphorical sense and things.

John brings to his attention the little, simple things in life, little bugs on leaves, a trail of ants by the sidewalks, street performers…

Ordinary things one would usually walk right by without a second thought."
