Though I don’t subscribe to it myself, I really like the common headcanon that Nuka and ‘Dotty’ were a couple—it’s just a pleasant idea, since he doesn’t have much love in his life that we know of in canon. However, in my headcanon, Doa (the lioness dubbed ‘Dotty’ by the fandom) and Nuka are not in a relationship, or even in the same generation.

But, as an homage to that popular idea, in my headcanon young Nuka did have a crush on Doa She’s a snarky, grumpy young lady with a very short fuse. ...We often go for partners who remind us of our parents, y’know? But she’s also got a good sense of humor, a lot of respect for the royal family, and is surprisingly good with cubs, so she won little Nuka’s affections. Doa was flattered, and accepted his occasional gifts of field mice and prickly yellow flowers gracefully—though she also pushed her nieces, Tazama and Imara, to spend more time with the prince, as she was a little worried that he wasn’t getting enough interaction with other cubs.

(I would assume you don’t need me to say this, but just in case: once he’s an adult too, nothing comes of his old crush on her. Nothing inherent bad about age gaps, but, in the context of this story, she watched Nuka grow up. Doa feels nothing but friendly, rather familial affection for him, and as an adult he feels similarly.)
