Description
So here's my first fanart piece on this show called "Darkwing Duck" (technically, it's not the first I drew, but it is the first one I completed and solely on the show, as the other piece I haven't shared yet is a crossover).
Darkwing Duck is a spinoff of DuckTales after that show ended, as it features some characters from that show, but in a new setting. It's about this average duck named Drake Mallard who takes on the identity Darkwing Duck who protects his city St. Canard. It's basically Batman and Spider-Man, but in a duck setting.
My history of this show is very dim. Unlike most kids of the 1990s, I never grew up with the Disney Saturday Morning cartoons of the late 1980s/early 1990s due to when I was born as they already ended and only knew from either tapes or reruns. And unlike DuckTales where I heard about it thanks to my grandparents buying a tape from Ross, I found out about Darkwing Duck during that short time my parents had DirectTV in early 2002, though I only see it from promos on Toon Disney. And even after having cable for almost 8 years straight, I hardly watched it. Kinda wish I did, but I couldn't get into everything as a kid.
So my first piece was this villain called Liquidator, and like with most of Darkwing's other villains, he's somewhat based on the elemental villains Spider-Man deals with like Sandman and Hydroman. Liquidator was a shady business who fell into his own water and became liquid based.
I drew him more on his 2017 design after finding a pose on instagram.
