Anyone who has been to my site will know I'm a sucker for colour isolation and B&W photography... this is a lovely shot as it combines all the elements I enjoy. Well done! Can I ask how long it took you to manipulate the photo to bring out the flames?
I ask because, in general, it usually takes me forever

i cut out the flames by color and then overlapped it on the b&w. it took maybe a half hour for the whole picture, because there were multiple colors within the flames and i wanted to make sure i got all of them. there was one thing in the b&w that i tried to remove, but by removing it, i would've messed up the flames. so it took a while to perfect the picture, but cutting out the flames didn't take too long.
i don't mind you asking at all.

Hmmm... cool. Normally I select the colour I want in photoshop and then progressively cut that one tone out, you're way works well too though (a lot faster than mine too). I'll remember this, thanks
