Lying on my back
Misty breeze fluttering across my face.
Staring up at the dark and clouded sky.
Searching for a sign of his presence.
Swallowed up by the dark and dismal ache of loneliness.
A shadowy figure that appears before me
Reaches out to seize my hand
But it’s too dark to see,
Too far to reach.
I just don’t know,
Why am I shattered by the words he does not speak.
Eyes gone unfocused.
Staring into nothing,
One single star twinkles valiantly against the dark black night
Peaking out of the lazy haze like a signal of hope…
Even though there is none.
Flashes in my eyes
A stabbing pain through my chest.
I cry out in agony, but no one can hear my despair.
The life in me is drained from my thick veins and I can think no more.
Lying stone cold in the night,
Waiting for his soul to find me.
