Description The twelve 4-8-4 locomotives, known as the Potomacs, were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1947 for the Western Maryland Railway. They're mainly used for hauling freight, and lasted until their retirement in 1954. In 1957, all 12 Potomacs bit the dust at the scrapyard when their equipment trusts have expired. In this what if scenario, locomotive 1403, the third engine of the J-1 class, was bought by the Richmond, Peabody & Parker Railroad, and hauled freight and passenger trains over the 8-mile line.
