Description “I don't believe in luck. I believe in effort.”

The design of Molly, the Elemental of molybdenum, is one I just find pleasant. It's not super colorful, but I find it beautify in its simplicity. Molly's design is simple and practical; if you spend all day working in the garden, or fixing cars, you're going to get a little dirty. Her black hair is the color of molybdenum disulfide and by extension the mineral molybdenite. Molybdenite was historically confused with graphite and galena, so Molly has the same dark hair as Cecilia and Patricia (not redesigned yet). Her gray jacket is the color of molybdenum metal, and its green sleeves, as well as her shirt, yellow-green eyes, and valence marks, reference both molybdenum's yellow-green flame test and its importance to plants. She loves plants, but her favorite plants are clover. Clover is a legume, so it fixes nitrogen with the help of bacteria in its roots. That nitrogen-fixing enzyme depends on molybdenum. I thought clover would make a better motif, with its easily-recognizable shape, than say, beans or peanuts. Her blue jeans reference molybdenum blue, used to detect phosphate. The orange pant cuffs and ends of her pants (the cuffs themselves aren't visible due to her boots) represent the mineral wulfenite. Her brown boots represent soil and thus circle back to her love for plants. The bronze clovers shapes reference clover (of course) and molybdenum bronzes, which are actually metallic purple, blue, and red. Molybdenum is one of my favorite elements, and high on my list of elements more people should know about. While elements like gallium, niobium, or the rare earths are important to our technology, molybdenum is vital for our bodies. It's not as famous as magnesium or iron or zinc, and isn't needed for as many proteins, but molybdenum is essential all the same. Molly was featured in this Black History Month Drawing. The green sleeves and orange pants were thou-ART-avillain 's idea!
Molly is hardworking, honest, kind, and just wants to see all life on this planet flourish. She keeps calm when the pressure and heat are on, and genuinely can always find a reason to smile. She's nice to all, even Courtney, whom she can barely stand. Tracy, because she's so used to being used, worries that Molly might be trying to manipulate her, but Molly doesn't have a manipulative atom in her body.
