So I know what some of my watchers may be thinking right now. "You wait months to post something new, and when you do IT'S NOT EVEN HORSE RELATED!?!" This Link perler was actually a prepaid commission on Etsy from a nice customer that ordered before Bronycon and was patient enough to wait about two months for it. Granted, I ended up underpricing it (again) because apparently I'm awful at pricing larger items that take up way too much of my time and table space, but at least now I know what to price it as. Let's just say I gave it to him for under a hundred and it should have been over a hundred.

But less on pricing/posting woes and more on the actual piece! I'm sure a lot of you Zelda and sprite fans have seen this design before. I certainly did not make it. Abysswolf on Deviant Art made it, but for some weird reason I can't find the exact sprite in his gallery. Here's a link for the game he makes the sprites for: cardgallery.tales-tra.com/main… A lot of people have made this sprite in perler beads before I have. There are some noticeable differences though. The pants are purple compared to the normal blue or grey, the boots have shades of red and orange instead of just brown, and I even put a little teal in the outfit. Okay, a bunch of teal. I love teal, okay!?! I felt weird as I was making these differences, but when I was finished I realized that the bright, almost contrasting colors more closely resemble the original Zelda games more than if I had just gone with normal coloring. I dunno, I know I'm biased because I made it, but overall I'm pretty happy with the color choices I made. Blame my pony experience on why it's so colorful if the previous explanation doesn't work.

So this guy took a minimum 10 hours. Honestly, I stopped counting after 10. Humans are kind of a pain in the butt for me to do due to my lack of experience, much less ones as detailed as the sprite I used. It was incredibly headache inducing and sometimes I would avoid it for a week at a time because just looking at the partially finished work gave me a small headache. Link is about 2 feet tall and a foot and a half wide. The Discord figure you see in the image is about 8 inches, so you can use that as a size reference.

Would I do it again? If I price it right next time, yes, but only if the original sprite artist doesn't message me about stopping. I feel uncomfortable using other people's sprites even if it is over licensed characters. (Not to mention looking back and forth from the boards to the computer was half the reason I got headaches. There's a reason I rarely ever make sprites of my perlers!) If you're seriously interested, message me and we can talk about it.

And yes, I will make pony stuff again... eventually. Sorry, but it's a little hard to make new MLP content when the show has been on hiatus for so long. I'll be expanding my shop with other items in the mean time!
