Hippocampus base card art by the very talented artist Ingrid Hardy

Hippocampus (Hippocamp or Hippokampoi or Hippocampi) - In Greek mythology the Hippocampus has typically been depicted as having the upper body of a horse with the lower body of a fish. The ancients believed they were the adult-form of the small fish we call the "sea-horse". Hippokampoi were the mounts of Nereid nymphs and sea-gods, and Poseidon drove a chariot drawn by two or four of the creatures.

That's so well done and the tale behind them is a terrifying Irish folktale they are pretty to look at but approach one and be dragged down and eaten

Very cool!
We had one on our SCA shires banner, along with a Pegasus. The Shire was called Sky Water. We were on an island, so go figure.
