Absolutely lovely!

One question: where do you get the energy and inspiration from? I've hit a creative dry spot and I'm jealous

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

peroni68 In reply to DeepBlueDesign [2011-09-19 16:04:10 +0000 UTC]

Thank you my dear!
Oh, it was easy in this way, saw the wonderful crows while searching for stocks
I know the uninspired phases as well..they come and go
There's no reason for beeing jealous, my work is not such demanding as yours.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeepBlueDesign In reply to peroni68 [2011-09-19 16:36:57 +0000 UTC]

Why is your work not as demanding as mine?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

peroni68 In reply to DeepBlueDesign [2011-09-19 16:49:34 +0000 UTC]

That's what we once had talked about, my work is not as difficult as yours. Maybe this one is a sweet scene, but that's all.
I really like this work, but be sure you would not like to see it in a bigger resolution. I'm still dizzy thinking at your high resolutions..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeepBlueDesign In reply to peroni68 [2011-09-19 17:51:49 +0000 UTC]

LOL. The only reason I work at high resolution is because the details are easier to handle and the work looks super smooth when you scale it down. Sometimes it slows down Photoshop a little but it's workable.

Try it yourself and be amazed at the end result

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

peroni68 In reply to DeepBlueDesign [2011-09-19 19:49:24 +0000 UTC]

I most time use higher resolution but that's not the point.
"... because the details are easier to handle.." Yes, exactly, the details.
I've read your big tutorial some time ago ..sorry, I know you've been waiting for a critique
My jaw was just dropping while reading, and I saw then where are my limits.
I was very impressed about how you've created the suit and also about the tons of other details!
For example the high expense for the hinges of the bullseye or creating the table.
It's a long way for me to get on your level.

I know, I know, it's not always the quality but more the content...and to have fun!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeepBlueDesign In reply to peroni68 [2011-09-22 15:24:59 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for reading my monster tutorial! I always wonder how many people who downloaded it actually read it. The suit (and this is a secret) was a happy accident. I wasn't paying attention while messing around with channels and suddenly I had this really cool effect. It took me ages to reconstruct what I did in the first place so I could put it in the tutorial.

You keep mentioning "my level". I don't really understand what you mean ... is it my insane attention to detail? That's not a level, that's trying to get all the pixels to line up and do as they're told . I suspect I'm a control freak when it comes to digital art: it has to be as close to perfect as possible otherwise it ends up in the bin.

And you're right. It's all about having fun.

peroni68 In reply to DeepBlueDesign [2011-09-22 21:37:35 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome! It was really interesting!
Yes, I mean the attention for details and also the creativity...you know I love your work!
I'm alwas very impatient, put some things togehter..colorize, add some shades..that's it.
Ok, maybe the details are not always necessary in my works, but my biggest problem is, that I can't paint!
Anyway, the day will come I'll learn it....

Let's have fun!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeepBlueDesign In reply to peroni68 [2011-09-23 16:35:33 +0000 UTC]

Well, I can't paint either, at least not on the computer. I just have major problem with size ... the screen and my tablet are just too small and I hate zooming in and not being able to see the overall effect of what I'm doing.

Like you, I am very impatient. I'm now teaching myself patience by creating 3D work. 3D is so involved because you have to make everything from scratch that you have to have patience .. I just spent three evenings modelling, texturing and lighting an umbrella... I had the odd 5 minutes where I wanted to throw the whole thing out of the window but now it's done and looking very photorealistic, I've decided to develop it into a story involving clocks in a birdcage and a thunderstorm ... It keeps me busy

I always have fun when I'm creating art

peroni68 In reply to DeepBlueDesign [2011-09-23 19:29:48 +0000 UTC]

I see! The small screen...sorry, I'm still not a millionaire (you remember? )
Your new project sounds very interesting again, looking forward to it.
...and for sure I know these 5 minutes too!

Have fun and keep up your creativity!
