I was going to use this character for somethin' but I decided not to... SO HERE'S A PERYTON BOY FOR YOUR ALL YOUR NERD NEEDS. I've always wanted to make a peryton character hahaI forgot to put it on the ref but yes, he identifies as male.
I was also going to add more to the ref to explain how his "shadow powers" work but blergh. Maybe I'll doodle it later. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It really is. I never knew about them till I borrowed a book of mythical creature from my library. I instantly fell in love with them. I just love deer in general. xD

The boy's back in town!
I really do love his design though! The colors are muted and calm, but work so well with his personality. And he's mostly symmetrical, except for the antlers, which is a nice touch.
Basically, Artemis is pretty neat.

I originally wanted to go for greens but I went with a dark indigo-ish palette instead. Kind of reflects his shadow powers I suppose!
