Yes Yes Yes.. I know.. this was inspired by the famous John Lennon, Yoko Ono image.When your best friend looks just like John Lennon, and has a friend that is a beautiful Japanese woman
Well, I couldn't help myself.Personally I like the expression on Kaz's face better then Yoko's. And John Lennon doesn't hold a candle to my best friend Michael.

This is so well done. Very romantic and caring. I actually like this better than Annie Leibovitz's. Your lighting is far better and in spite of the fact that John and Yoko where married, i never saw much of an emotional connection in AL's picture. Yoko looked very disconnected, but Kaz does not. Bravo, you can't really take a better picture! Oh, and i never favorite art with complete nudity (even viewed from the side), because tastefully done nudity is almost an oxymoron and also well done, interesting, nude photography is very hard to find. But i had to favorite this, because this is an extremely tasteful photograph, it's not pornographic in the least, and it's well done and it's not the same old, same old. And your friend Michael is in great shape!

The shot of Lennon and Yoko was interesting, with him clinging to her desperately, in an almost infantile manner. I could never read Yoko's expressions very well...
This shot, with the more expressive female and the less desperately-clinging male seems... almost serene. It's kind of sweet, even. Not that the original shot wasn't sweet. This just seems...lighter.

Yes, it is an excellent tribute... however...it lacks the emotions the original has and that was the thing that made that photo so appealing...

That is funny you say that.. I found the original image lacking emotion, specifically the Void look on Yoko's face. She didn't seem present at all. Maybe she was feeling the weight of the unknown that was ahead.

Okay, let's just agree to disagree...
But still, I got the impression that you are mislead by the look of Yoko's face...I think that's just the way her character is in general...or just the mask she was putting on in public (conceptual performance artist mask)...
Just look at that intimacy between the two of them... Psychical and emotional intimacy... Some sense of serenity and belonging...
Unlike the two of you friends, where Michael is avoiding to touch the woman with his genitals and her grip off his leg is so mild... And they also look like they're gonna start giggling anytime soon... Sorry, but I just can't see that intimacy "thing" between these too...

to be honest the pose is good but he doesn't look anything like John Lennon and she looks more Philipeno then Oriental... not to put the work down or anything it's just i don't think your claim of how their physical apperance is correct. but pose wise i agree.

oh well i'm not stating that they have to look like them but in your description you claim that you have a friend that looks just like john lennon i had to disagree cause he really doesn't. and filipinos are deffinantly not the stereotypical asain so i did not count them, i dont appreciate the lesson on asians either, the "which by the way is also asian" makes you seem kind of rude and i didn't leave a comment to fight with you at all i was just stating what i stated in hopes to hear what you meant by why you think he looks like the great john lennon. i know my asains sir, my best friend is Vietnamese, my aunt is Korean, i have an uncle who is married to a Japanese woman & i have another uncle who is married to a chinese woman. i'm no stranger to asains.

At the risk of sounding over-flattering, I have to agree with the people who are saying they like this piece better than the original. In the iconic Rolling Stone cover, Yoko always struck me as a bit aloof, and John a bit aggressive. Then again, maybe they both had a right to those feelings at that point in their careers...
Anyway, your image seems more gentle and intimate - and, ironically, less "staged." The emotion in each of your attitudes conveys the friendly affection you seem to have for your models. That kind of dynamic can be the keystone of great imagery. I also prefer the soft lighting in this piece to the hard edges of the old photo, but that may just be tied to the era of production.
