Description
While the Swedish aircraft carrier for the Joint Nordic Carrier Wing was being completed, the Finnish part of the Wing was experimenting with color schemes for naval operations. The black&silver scheme was "pretty good but not quite the best". Pilots loved the dramatic look but, for combat purposes, the colors were too strong.

Eventually, a more subdued scheme was selected - and it stayed in use on the Seafire 48 and the jets that followed it later on: [link]
