Whew, boy did this take a while! This is the result of three weeks of solid work, and I gotta say I'm quite proud of the outcome! It's my first time ever doing needlework before, so it was a learning process. It was fun, but I think I've had my fill. I could see myself doing another one at some point, but not for a long, long time.The finished picture is about 6 in. x 7.5 in -- I have no idea how many stitches that is, but let's just say a LOT.
Fluttershy is best pony.

Thank you! The thing about cross-stitching is it really isn't very difficult, per say, just very time-consuming. I'd love to do another of these someday, but much bigger! Like a panorama image of some sort.

This is the best Fluttershy cross stitch I've seen (and I have been perususing the Internet quite throughly for one)! Do you still have the pattern? I would definitely be willing to buy it if you do. My friend's birthday is coming up and his favorite pony is Fluttershy, so I really want to try and find a pattern to cross stitch for him.

Thank you so much! Yes, Fluttershy is my first, and so far only, attempt thus far. If I do get the urge to do another one, I think it might be Big Macintosh. Either that, or something with a background--might as well go big or go home, right?

Colors? Well,I just went with what I thought looked best, and for the most part I'm extremely happy with my choices. If I were to make another Fluttershy, though, I'd probably pick a different color for her body outline--it looks too orange, I think.
If you're wanting specifics, though, here's the color list I used:
Mane outline — darker pink, 899
Mane/cutie mark — pink, 151
Cutie mark center — blue, 807
Eye/lash — black (silky), S310
Eye — white, BLANC
Eye (iris) — aqua, 958
Body outline — golden yellow, 725
Body — light yellow, 445
Back two legs (in shadow) — slightly darker yellow, 727
I used DMC thread (from what I hear, they aren't as prone to fading, and the colors don't bleed when wet). And I used a silky black thread for the eyes, but in retrospect, it's much harder to work with, and it kinda sticks out compared to the other, non-silky thread. Just so ya know.

That's for sure! An hour's worth of work only to have less than a square inch completed. Not to mention all the time spent cutting thread, separating threads, weaving new thread in where the old one left off...ugh. Fun, yes, but labor-intensive as you said. I'm just glad we're both so pleased with the end result!
