that's because the reference given by the commissioner looked like it was a fan art and the eyes looked like shit, so I made it better. XD

XD The eyes on my main character made him look evil, but when I sized it down to a 50 x 50 for my avatar, the eye's looked way better. And the next time I draw him, I'll use the 50 x 50 for the reference XD

yeah, that's a pretty good trick. that way you can always go back for a preference..
If it looked too evil, try making it larger. That seems to do the trick for me..
