I don't know if this is what you intended, but I like how the blood from the tree, which turns into new life, suggests that with everything bad in life, there's something good. That sorrow and despair is part of life, but that there's always something to come out of it.
Someone else mentioned it, too, but I really adore the concept that this storyteller is the creator of life.

This makes me think of how in Japanese, the word "word" is written by two characters which on their own mean "speak" and "leaf."

oh, how true that storywriting/telling takes so much out of one. everything from them is sucked out to create another world. he looks as if he's losing himself into this world..

I find this painting a little bit sad, but the idea behind it is, like always in your paintings, wonderful.
The way you represented the road behind the storyteller and the apparition of the cities is very impressive. It seems as if, through his own sacrifice, a world is being created.
Is it just me, or does the storyteller have a ghost-like appearance. If that is the case, what did you wish to represent through it? The fact that the storyteller is invisible to normal human beings or something else?

I don't want to give a final authoritative answer. It might "kill" the picture. And, if I could say it in words, I would have propably written it and not painted it.
