Another cetacean has died in captivity. This time it was one of the most popular, yet most tragic 'stars' of seaworld. A male orca, that had a history of hurting and killing trainers. The biggest orca in captivity. A prime example for why these animals don't belong in tanks.
Guys, there's nothing educational in watching these intelligent mammals performing stupid circus tricks, only because they learned they won't get food otherwise. If you really want to see them, watch them in the wild. Watch their natural behaviour. Most of these parks are close to the ocean! Take a whale watching trip to the sea, watch them there! I can tell you from my own experience, that this is breathtaking!
Please, don't buy a ticket to a whale or dolphin show, let's stop the cruelty. Educate yourself, your family and your friends, watch documentaries like Blackfish or the Cove. Tell people what you know.
Let's empty the tanks. We were too late to save Tilikum. But there are many cetaceans still slaving away for what some people think it entertaining and educational. If you love these animals, don't support seaworld and whatever company captures these amazing, social beings from their families to force them into bathtubs.
