Description I decided to this title since the mountain you see in the distance covered inside the clouds is the mountain of the Thermopylae pass, where Leonidas and the 300 Spartans (among with the 700 Thespians...who are always forgoten) fought 2487 years ago.

saw 'Before the Storm' on the daily deviations and came to see your gallery . they made a great choice . I'm not sure why one image attracts when they are all so beautiful but I am fav'ing this and Greek Magic .

I guess I like the way this focuses on the mountain , but also the way the populated area seems to be one more natural texture of the foreground . plus the fact it centers on the pass matters somehow - this is one of the first heroic tales I remember hearing about as a child .
