Isn't Solidus evil? And he was a direct clone too, like same age as Big Boss and everything.

Yes Solidus was evil. And as for being the same age as Big Boss, well yes and no. They are really ALL (Big Boss included) the same age in a way.

You see, when a clone is created, they are made up of cells that are the same age as the donor. So in a way, Big Boss, Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus are ALL the same age, since they are ALL made up of cells that are the same age.

That may have been too complicated, so let me make it simple.

If you clone someone who is 25 years old, the clone is going to be 25 years of age. Someone who is 50 years old is going to have a clone who is 50 years old of age. Someone who is 100 years old is going to have a clone who is 100 years of age. That's why clones age so fast. And that's why Snake was an old man in MGS4 when he was just 40. From date of birth, he was 40 years old, but he was actually in his 90s

In MGS2, Liquid mentioned that Big Boss was in his 50s when they made his clones. So that would make Snake, Liquid and Solidus in their 50s when when they were born. They were ALL old men before they were even born.

I have done the research.

In the case of the in - game story, it's more like they purposefully made so David, Eli, and Solidus experience accelerated aging, in case they go against the Patriots or their genetic informations falls into enemy's hands. Pretty much a fail - safe that kills them.

Technically speaking yes. In my theory and opinion, the Patriots could have had the Les Enfants Terribles project to intentionally have the children to age faster, but would not need to make changes in the DNA or coding as the clones will age rapidly anyway. In all reality, they would not need to alternate or change anything in the DNA to make the clones age faster.

You can have any theory you want about how the Les Enfants Terribles age quickly. But in my theory that is based on my research, the fact that clones are the same age as their donors makes much more sense to me. Clones do age quickly in real life as they do in Metal Gear Solid.

*SPOILER ALERT* Big Boss was revealed to be alive in MGS4. If I have my math is correct to the dates and time lines in Metal Gear, Big Boss was in his 90s at the end of MGS4 and he does look it. And we do see him die of natural causes (most likely old age). If Snake was not going to die of Fox Die, it does end with him only a few months left to live (most like due to the fact that his age is the same age as Big Boss).

Just a recap, the facts that clones do age quickly to match the age of their donors makes more since to me, but you can believe any theory you want since it is fiction. Anyone can have their theory in fiction. Like the theory of how Han Solo is a Force user, or how there is no escape from the Matrix (a dream within a dream theory. The red pill or the blue are pointless).

Yeap, pretty much. We could also say that since technology in the Metal Gear universe is much more advanced than what we have, they probably have eliminated the problem of the cloned cell being the same age as the original cell in the first place. I mean, Shagohod was developed in the 60s, that's way ahead of us in terms of technology, we can say that the same applies to genetic research. Then when it came to Les Enfants Terribles, since the initial issue of cloning was already gone, they might have to re - engineer it into the genetic code.

Big Boss actually didn't die of old age, though. I mean, yeah it's a contributing factor (he was 79 though, he was born in 1935) but it's the Foxdie virus that was injected into Snake that did it. That's also what happened to EVA also Decoy Octopus, Baker, and Liquid back in Shadow Moses. I think Kojima also stated that by the time of MGR, it's 4 years after MGS 4 and Snake wasn't dead yet.

You can believe that about Metal Gear if you want about the cloning and technology. But somethings that you just said seems to be contradicting something. Are you sure that Big Boss was born in 1935? In Metal Gear Solid 2, Liquid did say that "Big Boss was in his 50s when they made his copies." According to the time-line shown at the end of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the Les Enfants Terrible project began in 1972 and the sons of Big Boss are also born in that year. If Big Boss was born in 1935, that would make him 37 not in his 50s in 1972 like Liquid said. Keep in mind that these dates I found came from the games themselves, not from the internet (although to you, that seems other case as you are reading my statements from the internet). Are you sure that Big Boss was born in 1935 and not the 1910s?

Also, what type of evidence is in Metal Gear Rising that proves that Snake is still alive? The only time I heard Snake mentioned in MGSR was a codec call with Kevin. Although they didn't say that Snake was dead, the way they were speaking does suggest it. Is there something I miss?

*NERDING INTENSIFIES*

Yeah, I did get that info from the Metal Gear wiki.

Then again, if Big Boss was born in the 1910s, wouldn't he at least look almost as old as Zero? Zero was born in 1909, so he's 105 when his life - support was cut off. I think when Liquid said that, he was talking about the Genome Army instead of LET. They started using them in the Gulf War and Gulf War happened in 1990, so if Big Boss was born in 1935, then yeah, he was in his 50s. Think about it, Snake Eater was set in 1964. If he was born in 1910s, he would be at least be around 40s - 50s, 54 at most and 45 at least. Sure that would mean he was at least 53 in 1972. But if that's true, he would already be 65 during the events of Phantom Pain. He didn't even look that old, I mean, do you see any grey hairs on him? Plus, he would had been 31 when he met The Boss back in 1951 and since she was born in 1922, she would be 29. Considering he looked up to her like a Mom, yeah, I don't think so.

Regarding Snake, I remember Raiden talking about him in present tense and despite Kevin saying that he wished he could meet him, it could be interpreted as him wishing he has a chance to meet Snake. Also, Kojima himself said, “We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of The Patriots."

Well Big Boss may be in his 60s (there is no way to pin point his exact age if the games never tell us) in the Phantom Pain and does not have gray hair. So he might as aged like fine wine I would say. In real life, (not one to brag) I was constantly thought by others that I was younger to everyone that what I really was. Hulk Hogan is looking good for his age and Christie Brinkley who are both in 61 and 62 years old
www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=C…
www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=h…
And Chuck Norris also looks good for a man who was born during World War II (that is not a Chuck Norris joke, he really was born in WWII). That would put Chuck in his 70s. It wasn't an atom bomb they dropped on Japan, it was Chuck Norris. And nobody that I have mentioned even has gray hair.

For Snake, as I said before, the way the Raiden and Kevin were talking, they did not say that Snake was dead, but that was how they worded it to me. Also, if Snake is alive; keep in mind that Snake was going to commit suicide at the end of MGS4 to prevent Fox-Die from spreading, but couldn't go through with it. Maybe Raiden was told that Snake would be killing himself, but was not told that he could not go through with it. And if Kojima is not done with Snake, well then, that is his decision. And it would not be the first time Metal Gear has fooled us like that. I mean we did believe that Big Boss was dead until he revealed himself in MGS4. And we did believe that Raiden was talking to Roy Campbell in MGS2 when he was just speaking to an AI. And we did believe that the Boss in MGS3 was a traitor when she was really following her orders to play the role of a traitor.

Either way I think we can come to the conclusion that Solidus needs love too.

Eh, maybe. I just can't see him being that old.

Actually, Big Boss himself said that when Drebin injected Snake with nanomachines, he was also injected with the second strain of FOXDIE, which actually cancelled out the original one so there's no danger of the virus spreading out, killing everyone. It's only designed to kill Big Mama, Liquid Ocelot, and Big Boss himself. Honestly, I truly believe he at least lives a few more years before dying. I mean, he survived going through a giant microwave, man.

Sometimes I wonder if the Snakes are just a normal family, maybe in an alternate universe. Just John, Eva, David, Eli, and George. No codenames and all the Metal Gear stuffs.

Well the multi verse theory is basically when a decision is made, an alternate universe is made with the different outcome in the decision that was made. So with all the decisions made through out history... You know what? Screw it. Yes is a positive theory. They could have a family in an alternate universe.

Actually the reason why they were all old me was because of a fail safe that was put in all three clones. They had rapid aging, they couldn't have children, and they could not be cloned. Patriot did all this.

adkead80 In reply to nighttempes [2015-08-23 14:55:09 +0000 UTC]

I know that there was a fail safe so that Snake could not be copied. But I just honestly believe that Snake was just aging quickly with the science of cloning. I don't think the scientist needed to worry about adjustment to make the clones age faster because that just came naturally. I was just giving off some facts about cloning. The aging of clones in real life is based on how old the donor is. I actually thought that that was the reason why Liquid mentioned Big Boss's age was in his 50s when they made his copies. I actually thought that that was sign of foreshadow that Snake may be aging quickly.

But, I am just basing my opinions of the game on facts in real life.
