Description Yonggary: Complete Dragon

Design Aspect
Yonggary is based on the Reptilian version of Yonggary and I used two deviants’ artwork to help assist with my depiction. I did not add his “shoulder pads” but draw the spikes on his shoulders instead. Other than that he should pretty much look the same to his Reptilian film counterpart.

Why I give him the title Complete Dragon is probably because I am trying to add in Imugi into his story. In Korean mythology, Imugis are an incomplete form of dragons and Yongs, complete.

Biological Information
Height: 535 feet
Length: 750 feet
Weight: 110,000 tons

History
Yonggary's earlier history has many tales and ancient Korean mythologies and stories talking about how him being an incomplete dragon called Imugi which could also be misidentified as a other Titans such as the Mandas or serpentine Titans. However, history indicates that he had died as a result of Ghidorah while he was an Imugi. While it cannot be determine that Imugi is Yonggary, a skeleton was found and the skull structure of that Imugi was similar to Yonggary. This evidence enabled Monarch scientists to determine that Imugi and Yonggary are related in a way. It suggested this Yonggary may have an evolutionary adaptation which happened while he is in an egg, giving him hands and legs. Unfortunately, it could not be genetically proven if Yonggary and Imugi are biologically link due to the lack of genetic material but the myth of Imugi transforming to Yong prevails.

However, during the war between North Korea and South Korea in late 1940s to early 1950s had unintentionally awaken Yonggary which he rampaged across Korea. Somehow, his appearance gone unnoticed by the Americans who were helping the South Koreans. But many Southern Koreans who seen him believed him to be a dragon as he unintentionally stampeded over the North Koreans. However, at the same time another Titan Pulgasari awaken and did the complete opposite. Both Titans appeared to be rivals and fought until they unintentionally fought near a destroy refinery, Yonggary appears to have an allergic reaction and started to convulse. Shortly after the battle, Yonggary managed to defeat Pulgasari who retreated and Yonggary died somewhere near Chuncheon probably due to him covered in an unknown material.

Some time in 1999, two Monarch archaeologists were able to find the decomposed corpse of Yonggary but also found a mysterious corpse buried along with Yonggary. Using the legends of Yong, the archaeologists called him Yonggary and found out that Yonggary was allergic to ammonia which caused his death. However, there was a mysterious corpse which was not human in origin and both archaeologists wondered what it could had been. As evidence suggested that Yonggary might had crushed this being unintentionally when he died. This being had a device on him which one of the archaeologist pressed the device while toying with the circuits which unintentionally summoned aliens. Once the aliens arrived on Earth, they resurrected Yonggary by unknown means and he came into the control of the aliens. Yonggary rampaged in the nearby town. Yonggary was later freed by one of the archaeologist when they were kidnapped into the space ship, and died. Yonggary broke free of the mind control and fought a creature, Cykor which was brought to Earth by the aliens. Cykor later escape to an unknown location when Yonggary destroyed the alien spacecraft. Monarch and the South Korea Military brought Yonggary onto a small unnamed island east of South Korea where it then fell back to sleep. The sole archaeologist who survived, was not able to convince Monarch about the aliens as he was the only person who saw them and witness their destruction as such he kept quiet about the aliens. South Korean authorities were not allow to disclose the nature of the incident due to Monarch.

In the present, Yonggary was monitored by Monarch on the unnamed island of South Korea. He already awoke due to the Jinshin-Mushis running across the world, and he wandered around the island. It was until Ghidorah's call for all the Titans he defeated and submitted to him, Yonggary started to move towards the direction of that call. However, when he heard another response which is from Pulgasari and Cykor. Yonggary swam back to Korea where he faced his two enemies of the past.

Powers and Abilities
Yonggary is a Titan of tremendous size and can lift another Titan as heavy as he is. He usually uses his claws and tail during close combat. But he also sometime bites and headbutts his opponents.

Yonggary's main ability is due to his bio-pyrolysis nature which involves fire. He is able to generate large amount of fire through his body and release them as a stream of fire or powerful fireball. His signature ability is the forceful fireball which causes a very powerful explosion which had destroyed an alien spacecraft.

So, I take that Yonggary's incomplete form resembles the 60s incarnation, right?

Close but more snake like, based on the Imugi but head of Yonggary of the 60s.

Yes, I will do one on Cykor.
All Forms will be drawn later, he would more likely have the same head but body similar to snakes.
Which is inspired by the Imugi, which is the incomplete form of Korean dragon, Yong.

That is not a bad movie.

Ah, expanding out to non-Godzilla Kaiju, then? I'm glad to see this guy and I like how you've made Pulgasari his enemy.

Yes! Non-Godzilla Kaiju had expanded my original list. Fortunately some of them are aliens so I will be doing some of them later.

I swear the idea that Pulgasari to be his enemy was my last minute decision when I saw that Yonggary was called due to him when I was trying to weave in the tale of Imugi into his history. But I later found out another deviant had the same idea as me, which I was damn! I am not the first one with that idea!

The idea of the North and South Korea war which sparks the idea of the two kaijus being enemies and so I weaved Pulgasari into the story using a plot of the first Yonggary movie but bring the event to the Korean War. But I got him killed by ammonia which is his weakness in the movie.

Then the next plot came from Reptilian which I got the spacecraft destroyed rather than the Kaiju. Primarily because I want aliens to be a disbelieve in a world of the Titans until much later. The only thing that people might find problematic, is the alien device used to resurrect Yonggary since I wrote him as a decomposed corpse but it is also in reference to how Ghidorah’s going to be “renew”. However, one is dead and the other is just a head. So need to figure that out!

Too passionate with this little project of mine. LOL

I don't think too much passion is a problem! I love how you've reinterpreted the pre-existing monsters and your OCs and versions of mythical beasts are also fantastic!

Nah, I mean passion being that when I get passionate with something, I start crafting and weaving the story.
Usually I get distracted pretty easily, and I am not limited to just one imagination or world (got multiple worlds stuck in my head: Kaijus, Heroes, Scifi, etc).
But drawing had help me to stay interested.

And thanks for the compliment!
