There's something creepy about big abandoned cities and installations. There are just too many unnerving implications in the idea that something so big and bustling, created through such a large human effort, would end up being abandoned and empty.

I always love painting scenes with the sun low in the sky as it creates such dramatic lighting and hard shadows

I was never really into them for years, but the older films have a certain charm to them, probably down to the characters, you become invested in them. From a design point of view, the high tech shiny look isn't something I look to for design inspiration, I prefer the 'used look' view to future concepts

yea the characters are often the most important part of a movie or film.
i loved the concept of a "used look" for sci-fi stories, it gives the whole thing a history.
that it could be real and messes with your brain XDΒ
