Thank you! to tell the truth, I didn't even expect to get so many comments, I feel like I don't deserve them, or at least not for a thing like this, it's nothing to be proud of, expecially in comparison with your coloring skills! May I ask what pencils do you use to color your pictures?

Aww You're so sweet, of course you deserve all the comments! I use a good old 48 set of Faber Castells Though since I always go through so many blacks I've taken to using a Faber Castell Pitt brush-tip pen for the black feathers, and some lovely black polychromos which are also Faber Castell

Thank you! I'll go investigate if they sell them here!

They ought to, Faber-Castell is a big international brand!

Thanks! I seem to have a very bad luck with colored pencils... I don't buy them too oftenly but when I do, they are usually hard to sharpen or break too easily or the colors aren't vivid at all...

CSIllustrator In reply to PeteriDish [2012-04-03 12:18:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the Fabers have great colours but the standard ones that I use do have that breaking problem. Polychromos are absolutely brilliant but they are expensive, a couple of AU$ piece and you usually buy them singley unless you have a couple of hundred to get a tin of 36 or so.

Haha aww, but do see if you can get a hold of the normal Faber Castells, they're real good and affordable too [link]

VI vypadá zajímavě má nějaého fotosyntetizujícího symbionta?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PeteriDish In reply to Jaldithas [2012-04-02 21:23:54 +0000 UTC]

Mohl by... Ještě jsem nad tím moc nepřemýšlel, spíš jsem sáhnul po zelený, protože jsem tak trochu okopíroval: [link]

Jaldithas In reply to PeteriDish [2012-04-02 21:54:02 +0000 UTC]

ale tak, dávalo by to i smysl, s takhle zvětšeným povrchem těla by měl i víc místa pro ty fotosyntetizující symbiotické mikroorganismy + pokud tam existují i nějaké "řasám podobné organismy" tak má mimikry

PeteriDish In reply to Jaldithas [2012-04-02 22:05:22 +0000 UTC]

To je pravda, "zvířasy" jsou něco, co by někde jinde ve vesmíru klidně mohlo být... Asi použiju tvůj nápad!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jaldithas In reply to PeteriDish [2012-04-02 23:09:05 +0000 UTC]

Great! I love these coloured thingies!

PeteriDish In reply to electreel [2012-04-02 20:26:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot! Yeah, they are pretty much "just" thingies, but they're still important to flesh out the basic of two new groups of animals for the planet, I still have to decide if they'll be two phylla in a superphyllum, or two subphylla in a single phyllum, but thing is, that those sesile forms and the octopus/jellyfish-like forms are symbionts that come from a common worm-like ancestor which also gave the rise to all those colorful "flatworms" and "nudibranchs" but i don't want to reveal too much, stay tuned!

Yeah! I will still have to elaborate on the body plans and patterns some more, these are just quick simple colored sketches, but I have a basic idea so I can build upon that.

These were a lot of fun actually!

A bit messy, but the color combinations are great

PeteriDish In reply to MysterySpider [2012-04-02 20:01:19 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! thing is that my scanner is rather crappy in capturing the colors, it overexposes everything, I had to edit this, fiddle with the contrast and stuff, so it looks a bit different than the original... And if I "crossed the line" a few times... Well, shit happens and I did this with bad lighting and I couldn't find a good place for the lamp either, so a shadow was always blocking part of the paper that I actually needed to see, this was also very quick and rushed up, I swear my "trade piece" looks much better than this!

You know, people are bugging me to post colored aliens, so I did. Many of them might look familiar, but they¨re more alien than they appear, but all will be revealed in the description which I'll add soon.

I actually have yet another page of similar stuff, but I don't know if I should add it as a separate deviation or just edit this and change the picture... Wat do you think?
