Recently I uploaded concepts of modern version:Sword - ( Alex )
Blade - ( Ahktar - concept of modern chopping blade )
Katana - ( Yuki )
Spear - ( Valkyrie )
knife 1 - ( Anansi )
Now I add another piece to collection - Knife. (All pieces are based on usual profile with modern suit.)
Work is mine. Work has been made in 3ds max + vray as rendering engine. Completed in Photoshop. Picture is bigger to see details.

I was very pleased when i saw this, it looks llke a sharp, thin, refined structure and as i look at it i was really surprised in a goood way because I haveen't seen many knives on dA and the technique you used for this is astounding. I believe the sleek part of the blades are done well as well as the handle seeming as though it has scales. I found that originality intriguing. I haven't seeen many knives with handles madee that well, I have to admit it seemed very easy and lifelike for me to grab the handle and have at it with this knife. If I could, I would purchase this knife.
Cons? It would be hard for me to pick cons. I suppose I'd enjoy it more if it had less of an opening in the middle or if it had a design rather than simpy open in the middle, a triangular design would work.

Hi. tnx for review. regarding grips. Inted of one monolitic piece I used to searated into few segments connecting together. just for change. Like this one where they are supposed to be made out of ruber so it should be places in hand confortable. Nothing like hard material.

The hilt seems a little thin ,from ym point of view. I mean I could be mistaken but I do think the hilt could be a big thicker so you have a better grip and dont let it slide out. But overall it really looks great. A light and fast weapon to use.

I like the pine cone/alligator scale handle, and the contrast between the rubber and metal materials.
My only nitpick is maybe the grip should be flipped upside down to offer more grip. That way the "steps" in the grip will hook into your glove/hand and prevent slipping when a deranged cyber-punk tries to yank it out of your hands lol.
It's a beautiful blade, I don't understand why we don't see more fantasy stuff like this in real life considering how wildly popular sci-fi collectibles and props are.

At least this design makes it light weight, but the hole could be used to just rip the weapon out of your hands if they manage to get their own blade into it.

I've been reading some of the previous comments, and now I can tell that the handle is supposed to be made of rubber. While it looks FANTASTIC, maybe add a tiny bit more of a shine to the handle, so it looks a bit less like plastic. Some rubber is made to look more matte like that, yes, but I feel like adding the shine would also give a bit more depth.

I wanted to put this in a critique, but what I have to say is too short.
Personally, I think it looks awesome. It looks to be a deadly blade that is meant for battle. However, there are multiple problems here:
The gap in the middle makes the blade dangerously weakened. Also, if someone has good accuracy, they could catch their blade inside yours and rip it out of your hand with a simple twist.
The handle is cool, but that jagged scale like pattern would make parrying a very painful experience, as the grooves and edges would dig in and hurt your hand, weakening your grip.
This would likely make a good throwing knife, as the grip almost seems designed to slide out of your hand with enough momentum. The blade is of the right proportion, and overall, I really, really want one on my wall.
Or two.
Or twenty.

Dang that looks really sleek. Though I gotta say the handle looks like it'd be a bit rough to hold. Especially if it's meant to be hard plastic. But either way its one beautiful piece
