Got a question. I'm using your sword as a reference for one of my OCs. Is that alright with you? I'll link and credit in case you find it's likeness to similar. The artist isn't done. So changes can still be made.

I love your weapon designs. You put so much thought in them that I have to stand back and admire your work. One thing I would suggest with any long swords like this, it the hilt assembly, the crossguard in particular. It could stand to be more pronounced. The cross guard is VERY important to long sword fighting. Its used to bind, disarm, and strike. There are even old texts on how to grip the blade and use the guard to hook and enemy and bring them in close if they have a longer weapon. I would recommend looking up Skallagrim on youtube. He has a huge amount of information on long sword fighting, parts, conventions and misconceptions. I found www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk0GBK… particularly info packed.

Hi. tnx you for positive words. With swords I have number one problem to hit right proportion. I could find where is problem but now I think I make grip too broad which make this effect. Anyway tnx for that youtube. I will watch this guy how to explain swords and stuff around.

No problem! Glad to help out. Yeah, he has a lot of videos where he debunks misunderstandings and myths about swords, he explains why things are shaped the way they are and such. As for the grip, actually, you want it to be a little wider than thick. An oval cross section with a slight bulge in the middle (usually called a palm swell) helps both with grip and to allow you to feel edge direction in the grip. As for size, I would say around the size of a thick broom handle that has been hammered flat on the sides (to give that oval shape) But Skallagrim would know more than me on that given he spars a lot more. I've only gotten to once T_T.

I'm a bit confused with scale and resonance - is this Estoc? Claymore? Broadsword?
For me it looks like a bit weird version of Estoc - thrusting sword, beucase you cannot slash anything efficently without either breaking sword in 2 or missing target because of unbalanced weapon itself.
Also i question furrow which goes UNDER heraldics and to handle - that will collect liquids like blood, dirt, water from time, sword base will rust out and it will fall off.
2.8/5 usability.
Lighting is good as always, materials look nice and clean. 4.2/5 presentation.

Not really. It's the metal. Your scifi swords could be excused, probably being made with future tech, but I can't broker with the white and grey from a medieval style. The metal is too clean.

Quite impressive render I'd say great looking model and neat textures all around an amazing job, when I saw the thumbnail in my newsfeed I thought it a picture from a real sword so you really did a great job on everything to make it look realistic!
Good job and keep it up!

The steel textures are too fine and clean, I guess, as well as the leather on the grip looks too ornate for the dark age. You'd expect just a leather band wrapped around it and some scratches from the smithing process.
But i love the elegant design in general, even if it's easy to see that you usually do futuristic concepts.
Awesome work!
