I think I would call the inspiration for this one an arming sword. Nicely done, and I like the little details.

Nice design, pretty standard longsword. Stupid question, is that a grotesque on the pommel/quillons or is it supposed to be an animal?

Excellent design, very realistic. Β One thing to note, though is that the side rings are unusually small and close to the guard. Β They would actually be a bit larger and rounder to cover more of an area over the fingers so as to provide better protection and easier access to alter your grip when stabbing.Β Β An excellent site for images to provide scale and detail for future works is Kult of Athena. Β Overall, very good and I'd buy it if it was real, though I'd probably change the animal face on the pommel to something else out of personal preference.

yea you are probably right. I took inspiration from rapier swords and was amazed how some types of rapiers have this rings large. I know kult of athenna but they do replicas I think. I met several of their words which has been copy of design of kit rae.Β

I like how the red glows a bit, at least it does on my screen, everything is so smooth and the texture for the handle is great. Like soft boiled leather, or perhaps that amazing stingray leather, design is quite traditional but sold it more with such an ornate pommel and unique guard.

For an arming sword I think it can pass but my complaint comes from how the blade is nicked up.Β  The flat of the blade has numerous nicks in it that looks like it was used in combat but at the same time the edge is near perfect making the flat scratches appear to be comedic and I am against that.
The design as a whole is interesting but I think the pommel design is a bit much for when you think that someone has to either forge or design that for a weapon (in my opinion, I am a strict form = function when it comes to weapons).

As an arming sword I think the blade is a bit on the heavy side, but it does look good enough.

Hi. in 3d it is always about willing how much time you are ready to invest into. When you make 3d renders then perfection is always problem because that make watcher's brain screaming it is not realistic. to make object like blade realistic with all imperfections coming from reality takes a lot of time so I do compromise. I use some textures like in this case for nicks. Yea in proper viewing watcher realise it is not real but still better then absolutly clean blade.

Looks good. Β About the only thing I can say is that the grip is a little short for the blade length, but otherwise it is nice, simple design that is wonderfully rendered, as usual.

I like the sleek design to it. The grip is pretty solid and the bottom piece is very well done. The blade looks authentic with the scratches and the design on the neck is a nice touch. All in all a very nice creation!

Ionosphere-Negate [2016-07-22 00:57:25 +0000 UTC]

The grip looks like it should be a bit longer for this length of a sword, but it's otherwise a solid design.

tnx mate. Somebody sent me this video in the past. but proportion also mean thickness etc... not only length. I mean Β that it happens to me that length is right but then I do some parts too fat or thin and good proportion is gone.Β
