Even without the star medallion on the grip, I looked at this and immediately thought "Russian," and that's even before I noticed your description for the inspiration. Clearly, you knew exactly the look and feel you were trying to achieve.Β
Very impressive.

Old doesn't necessarily mean it should be discarded or ignored. I think this is a fantastic piece.Β

I'm not sure why, but after going through your galley, seeing this one piece made me go "Ooh!" Probably because of the realistic design and vibrant handle (the star helps, too.)
Easily my favorite piece from your gallery.

This is a semi automatic weapon, and you illustrate an area where shells can eject. Given the large barrel, it would need a larger spring / futuristic stabilizer which would be located below the barrel. There is very little space at the separation of the top, grey part of the gun and bottom, charcoal part. That would need to be larger to house any kind of spring / futuristic stabilizing / recoil component. Your models are very creative with excellent technique. However, this loses some of its feasibility.

oh. this is one of me first models. It needs completely re-building and re-renering....

Ahhh, okay, I don't want to sound overly critical, your work is amazing. I just happen to shoot a lot of weapons and overall design is something I notice. The technique, lighting, and textures are all incredible.

Like the texture and lighting on the sides and front of the grip. Is this the concept for a future low-poly version, or is this the low poly version itself?
π: 0 β©: 1
peterku In reply to MightyTwinkie [2010-01-09 11:50:58 +0000 UTC]
Its just concept. I really dont know if call it high poly version or not. Its a combination of high and low poly objects. Dont understand why people make everything high poly even when its not necessary. Model itself is designed for 4 times closer view then it is now but textures are nearly at their distance limit. (I did them smaller as they require a lot of space and a lot of work). But in case of need they can be re-made bigger as they are contruct modularly in PSD format. Bye

Sorry I made mistake. I though I answered on different model. This is completely low poly model. I tried to make model with only few polygons without loosing much of reality.

I would assume, given it's position in the series, it's "safe"
