Description
Concept of sci fi shotgun.There is a battery instead of mag. Appearance is dark.
Worked in 3ds max, used vray rendering engine and finished it in photoshop. Model is highpoly.
So what do you think. Do you like it or not? tnx for comments if any. bye.

yea mate. nearly everyone write that it look more like rifle then shotgun. next time I will have to make something which has more in common with regular shotguns....

I think for something that's supposed to fill a "shotgun" role, two ways to go would be to either 1) shortish "barrel" with a pistol grip, or 2) a longish stock, pistol grip, and a recognizably large bore "barrel." I do like your designs, though!

Great looking weapon with an outstanding eye on the finish. One thought on the design aspect that I would not have included is the hand guard extending out from the pistol grip. As the magazine sits in front of the hand anyway and provides a certain amount of protection this would not be necessary and more importantly it looks as though it would impede the magazine change action by the user. Also the small size of the magazine would not be efficient enough for a multi barrel shotgun.
One of the highlights for me with this design is the tapering form from mid way to the 3/4 point. I especially like the decals you have used over the whole design - the font is perfect as is the tone of the lettering.
The pistol grip inner surface may need some grip pattern to help maintain control - it looks a little to smooth to my eye.
Fantastic design overall that is not spoiled by the points I have mentioned.

tnx you mate for review. that mag is shorter but quite thick. I know you are right about those missing small details. like on grip for example. they could be done I am just too lazy over those small details in general on most of my pieces

Cool design! Futuristic indeed. Although I think you should add a pump to imply it is a shotgun? At first glance I thought it was a rifle/rail gun. You could add a solid stock too if this thing has any sort of recoil haha. Shotguns by nature are really effective close range, so a shorter and wider barrel would also imply shotgun/smg.

It looks superb...
But even while it is needle/laser/fusion gun, it actually doesn't look like a shotgun. Multiple thin barrels(6 if I haven't gone blind yet) are great, but this is mitrailleuse more then a shotgun then. Shotgun are also known for abyssmally high amounts of variable ammunition and can be used for wide range of tasks based solely on it - from rope launcher to breaching tool to nonlethal riot control to grenade launcher or flamethrower. This one lacks such adaptability.

I think you could make it work, though with some modifications to the current design. For example, if you make the barrel wider but not as tall, and add in a forward stock under the barrel similar to what is seen on shotguns, it would look more like the intent.
Now, I wouldn't alter this design, since it is finished and it does look good. But you can keep that in mind for the next sci-fi shotgun you work up.

so, i've noticed there seems to be an electrical plug slot in the side, is that so you can hook up to a designated power bank for sustained fire? because that'd be a cool feature.
