Description Quick job on sci fi sniper  rifle for fictional scenario.  Design is based on simple square. It is supposed to use battery insted of standard bullets. Main body is meant to be made of ceramic so it does not collide with internal el-mag system.

I worked in 3ds max, used vray rendering engine and finished it in photoshop.

So what do you think. Do you like it or not? tnx for comments if any. bye.

Hi tnx for review. basic proportion I took from srsr sniper rifle. Those technical points you mentioned I took them all but I never do job 100 percent. when I am close enought I left it unfinished most time to save time. Those details catch only skilled watcher  not average one. I drive my according one rule. 80 percent of work require just 20 percent of effort and rest 20 percent of work need 80 percent of effort. So i do compromises here... so I spent on it as less time as I can and then move on another job.

I did that small display just another commenter requried it on my previous model so I did it now. just for change....

regards
PK

Cool, that's understandable. But if I don't mention it I won't be doing a complete critique. :-P

Gun looks a little odd but fitting though. You seem to do a lot of military science fantasy firearms. I do love all of them though. Including this one. It is clearly a sniper rifle what kind I do not but it is a really nice looking sniper rifle. She looks really nice but why squires. Seems kind of bulky and wide for a gun with a tiny Barrel in terms of the guns widths. Seem like a really weird but nice firearm overall. I love o Critique this kind of artwork more often. A really Nice job with the gun. Love it

The pragmatic line tell that we have a AMR-ish tool of destruction here. I prefer more ... stuff all around, fluid lines and such, but this knows to deliver a message of destination. Or in other words -> it workx

As a admirer of your work I must say you keep doing the same rifle "in different shapes" again and again.
Square  Blaser  Corvus  DSR3000-secondary  DSR3000-primary

Maybe its only my impression, but when I look at weapon designs in 20. and 21. century, you can find tremendous amount of variety in designs, shapes, function, origin and so on. When I look at these weapons, they are piece of art, from the moddeling point of view, materials to rendering ... but they are all from same familly if you know what i mean.

They are all clean, metal, plastic, glass, ceramic. You create them, as they are never gona be used, or get damaged, repaierd, or taken apart and cleaned. This elmag fed sniper rifle could need for example change a barrel after lets say after 3000 shots (barrel in M4 carabine have 10,000 shot guranteed).

All these weapons are clearly high-tech armament, but they lack key functions that could move them from our present view of "rifle". For example guidance for mid-flight aimed projectiles, gyrostabalization of barrel build-in weapon itself, adjustable emag plasma nozzel for switching between shotgun and rifle, syringe firig rifle for sedating animals (or maybe anesthetic could be change to form of plasma too?), semi-automatic micro-rocket launcher (Israel army is messing with it last 3 years or so), harpoon for catching boats/vehicles/people (they used some to transfer fuel between large boats or oil platforms, first catch dull harpoon to net, then stretch the pipe - this could be for fueling spaceships? or stealling fuel from tankers?), catapult gun for firing minidrones (or micro self-destruct satelites), or weapon that can act as a drone.

I really admire your skill and craftmanship with your guns, but maybe you could try to go out of your style a little bit, and experiment with designs, functions and color schemes.
I hope you will keep up the good work and don't be mad at me I would love to see elmag rocket launcher made by you, or a flamer gun or antisatelite laser canon ... or anything different than laser/elmag/projectile rifle/smg/pistol. You have already made plenty of those, and they are really great. With skill you have, give chance to more variety.

I wish you best of luck with next designs!

sorry for delay. Hi. tnx for comment. I have no problem with critic. Actually for square blaser I used SRS A1. it is similar to DSR.  I use real rifle to hit the right proportion becouse that is my big problem all the time. But I used them just to have proper length, position of grip and size of scope. Major features of objects.
They could look similar also becouse I used same sub-component over and over and sama textures, stamps etc. reason for that is that I save a lot of time and can move on another model.

Tnx for those iddeas. Some of them I wil do in the future. In the near future I will do some rocket launcher.

tnx once again.

Again, nice work.

Looks like a heavy duty caliber to me. Maybe for some shield/armor penetration? Only thing that disturbs me a bit, is the legth of the stock - it seems a bit too long, maybe it should be made adjustable with a telescope stock? Alternative would be to adjust the position of the scope ... the much easier alternative, now i think of it.

Still, great work as usual. Keep it up, i like it.

DemonMustang In reply to peterku [2018-08-05 03:25:35 +0000 UTC]

For future reference, long-range military rifles would tend to have optics from high-end makers like Nightforce and Swarovski. They cost an arm and a leg, but when needed to perform on battlefield conditions you'll be glad you had that level of quality.

Edit: I just came to realize that most likely AsBeyondSoWithin's comment was actually more to do with him not realizing Nikon made rifle scopes than laughing at it since they don't tend to make super high-end stuff... Um, but yes, Nikon definitely makes rifle scopes, pretty decent stuff too, but not ones military and police would use out in the field.

using a similar algorithm to the 20th century "Square Protocol" on wire buffering ,, Square was able to get an effective 34" (86cm) barrel , but only using a 11" (27cm).. hence the 9,, or .9 meter..

an the nice bonus is the square9 has the same characteristics as the VSS Vintorez but includes a range of 1000 meters vice the 400 meters, with the same lethality ...

Really like most of this gun.  Square barrel means square projectile and that is a ballistic nightmare.  My other issue is the pistol grip, which would probably be fine for a match rifle but for a field rifle the right hand only ergonomics and smooth surface are no-nos.

He did say it uses a battery rather than conventional ammo so it's likely to be an energy projectile, meaning it's not following conventional ballistics anyway.

TutTutTut In reply to battlebrothertherix [2018-07-31 21:24:43 +0000 UTC]

If this is supposed to be an energy projectile rather than energy propelled projectile than there are plenty of new issues but I do not believe that to be the case
