Gordon backed down into his birth in the shed one evening all wiped out after pulling the Wild Nor Wester as his driver and fireman were clearing out his smokebox The Fat Controller walked over to him. "Gordon" he said "im delighted to tell you that you have been bought by a preservation group" "Thankyou sir" "but you could have waited until morning to tell me" Grumbled "anyway which preservation group has bought me?" The fat controller said nothing he just tapped his nose and said "im not gonna say who has bought you but i will say this an engine you know will be arriving tomorrow as their will be a farewell tour for you" and with that he turned and walked away leaving Gordon very puzzled.

Next Morning Gordon was awoke with a start to see his Fireman doing a little Jig and his Driver waving and shouting "WAKE UP GORDON" they cried "wha wha what why do you pair have to wake me up at this time in the morning?" "Look Gordon you may want to see this" "see what?" asked Gordon but as just as he spoke a loud whistle was heard from the distance and then silence fell then backing down towards him was a Green tender with LNER written on the side and a engine of a similar shape to him Gordons eyes Goggled "Good Greseley" said Gordon "Its Flying Scotsman the fat controller has brought him to see me" Gordon whistled long and loud "he hasn't just bought me here to see you" said Flying Scotsman "He's bought me to take you to your new home" "where is my new home" asked Gordon Flying Scotsman smiled and said "The National Railway Museum of course your coming home with me and they will be giving you an overhaul and a new coat of paint and they will do a proper Doncaster job instead of what they did at Crewe" Gordon was so happy he boiled over.

That day both Flying Scotsman and Gordon pulled the farewell tour for Gordon thousands of people came to ride behind both A3s and take photos of them Gordon enjoyed himself then he had a thought "after my overhaul will i still be able to run on the mainline?" "Of course" said Flying Scotsman "you will be pulling Railtours just like me" that made Gordon feel better. The next morning Both engines were ready to leave for the NRM Gordon was coupled up in front of a coach and Flying Scotsman was coupled in front of Gordon the other engines came to see Gordon off "Have a safe journey" called Duck "be careful" said Percy "and remember about the passengers" said Thomas "Don't worry i will" said Gordon and on that note blowing steam and whistling loudly both Engines set off for Gordons new home and the engines didn't stop blowing their whsitles till Gordon and Scotsman were out of sight.

right well sorry its taken this long to get this story all typed up but DeviantArts new upgrades are a pain in the and on top of that i've been busy with other things.

i also think this is the best story i've written so far what do you think?
