It was pretty much one sided with Edith being head over heels for Jasper while Jasper was not as interested in the whole thing (and assumed Edith didn’t care as much but Edith is not the type to express much of what he’s actually feeling)
Once Jasper died he was devastated, but also pretty upset that his closest friend was going off to hang around with his asshole of a brother
He then got closer to Chester, whilst his friendship with Basil was basically destroyed (due to Basil now not trusting him at all and that Edith was obviously upset that he sent his friend to death lmao)
