Thanks! that's a very nice of you! Yes, it is just color pencils.

I did put some tiny sparkles with a metallic pen but I don't think people can see them on this picture.

Nooooo, you just need to practice! There is nothing that you can't do with some practice. There's always room to improve and you can always learn from others.

Collect colored pencil art pieces from others that you love in a folder and think about why you like them so much. Try to experiment with your own pieces using the techniques that those artist use until you find what it is that you do best. Some people like to use crosshatching or a lot of pressure. I personally use medium pressure and hatching because it is what works for me. Find yourself, it should be fun! [link]

My advice is that lights and shadows always will give your subjects depth and that is what makes a piece look more real.
