I wouldn't call this real "mexican" food but it looks cute.

PetitPlat In reply to Konoto-chan [2010-11-16 17:09:41 +0000 UTC]

Just an example:
Croissants in South Korea are filled.
In France, croissants are unfilled and crisp on the outside.
In Germany, croissants are closer to what we call brioche in France.

So what would you call this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Konoto-chan In reply to PetitPlat [2010-11-16 19:17:12 +0000 UTC]

Mh, it's more like a north american meal ratter than a real mexican one.

PetitPlat In reply to Konoto-chan [2010-11-17 13:54:46 +0000 UTC]

You didn't get my point when I was talking about "croissants".

According to wikipedia (so yes I know it's not the best reference ever) burritos are mexican.
Same for tacos and guacamole.

So of course these are not exactly like those in Mexico, still you can call it Mexican food. Like you can call "Asian food" the stuff you eat in "Asian" restaurant in Europe, which are of course a mix and match of various food from Asia (and not only from China).

And of course I guess Mexicans don't eat only tacos and burritos, but we in France don't eat only baguette and croissant either.

Still you can call it Mexican Food.
And I'm waiting for just one good reason why you could not call it Mexican Food.

As far as I know and not many people know this but burritos are not really from mexico, tacos are, yep, wikipedia is not always trustful; the amount of details in your work amazes me though.

Croissants come from Vienna, Austria.
Still they're a symbol of France.
