This is a very interesting picture. I like the detail. I watched a doumentary a few years ago that said that a theory behind the depiction of the royal family with elongated skulls was because they had some sort of disorder called Marfan syndrome that was characterised by elongated limbs and skulls running through Akhenaten's family .

yes, i read so too, but what's puzzling is that the princesses were depicted normally after the amarna period was over so they're not quite sure..

I see. Did the same family rule after the Amarna period? That would explain why they stopped this style of art.

yeah the same family did, but what made the amarna period distinctive was Akhenaten's (orginally Amenhotep IV) introduction to a new montheistic god "Aten". After is death, though, the old gods were worshipped again, later pharaohs even tried destroying any signs of Atenism.
