Description A spontaneous self-portrait.
Background: My living room. The sign in the upper part says: "Be yourself and keep it."
I know it is not a good background for a portrait, but as it says it was a spontaneous moment, where i just had the perfect mood for this kind of shot.

Have fun!
: )

Entry for the "Minorities at PortraitClub"-Contest for the male part.

Lovely photograph, but it appears as though it is slightly overexposed? Strong white highlights are phenomenal for the emphasis of certain points, but it appears as though your white highlight dominates a good portion of your subject's form, rather than allowing for multiple shades to assist in bringing form to the appendages.
Beyond that, your placement is slightly stale-- having the subject in the center of a photograph (or any 2 dimensional artwork) has the tendency to take any movement or energy it may have had and render it null and void. An effect, I'm afraid to say, that takes away from your piece and its intended energy.
Regardless, it is one I enjoy.

The black and white is very good for this picture. I really like the highlight on your fists, and the pose is good as well - such an intense stare! P: - But I'm in conflict over your background. It's suitable, but I still don't like it, I guess is what is my problem P:

Hej Rose,
Thank you for your constructive comment.
I am well aware of the distracting background, but unfortunately my flat didn't have a well-lit and empty room for an appropriate background. That time i put the priority on capturing the attitude. But your are right anyway, on my way to mastership i have to master both, fore- and background.
As long i am no master in photography, i will be going on liking this (imperfect) picture of me because of the captured attitude. Which i lack sometimes when i would need it.
(This is not meant as a critique on your comment, i thank you deeply. I really like your open minded way of giving so much comments!)

It's good that you were intentionally trying to emphasize the attitude for the photo, since it's true that you won't always have the right setting or what-have-you for the pictures you want to take (:
Please keep up the good work!
