now I don't want to appear overly negative, but the picture lacks good lighting as well as more vibrant colors. Besides, I dare question your choice of category. You have such a cool background (except the glittering curtain, which won't fit with the rest at all), this picture looks very promising but seems unfinished.

The photographer was playing around with the lighting and whatnot. As for the background, that can always be altered.

you might try and edit the picture (maybe you've even got it in RAW Format), which would help with the colors and contrast.

No, I don't tamper with the final product. The photographer took the time to do post work on these photos and it would be an insult to them if I were to edit them, myself. On my end, I'm happy with the way these photos turned out.
The best I can do is keep what you said in mind and share the suggestions with the photographer on our next shoot! :]
