this is an altered one of a kind repaint, MY FIRST
she use to be a dead tired frankie stein....i got to thinking after i bought her how they heck am i going to do this. i like a challenge and managed to make her somewhat that i had in mind ...im happy with the results and if all goes well i will repaint more

*i removed all facial factory paint, body stitches & bolts. made insert iridescent eyes and a costum mermaid tail with fin. each scale is hand cut then accented. i removed her rooted hair and applied mohair which is permanently attached.

I would love to know what you did with the legs. How did you merge them so seamlessly?

i tried keeping the legs but they were just too bulky past the knee. so i cut them off and merged them together with some epoxie.

her hair is not rooted but permanently attached with mohair.
i have been an OOAK artist for the past 3 years and so some of my sculpting skills came into play with starting my repaint/customs.

By permanently attached to you mean like with glue?
And fwah. It takes that long to make things pretty?
I ask because I am a beginner who wants to enter the world of customization.
Is it safe to start with a monster high doll right away?

i dont see why not. i would buy a gloom beach or dead tired (the more basic to try). or start with a really old barbie you can find at a consignment shop... but like i was saying, i have some previous experience in doll making. the old hair i keep, and eventually will use to reroot again on something (once i learn to reroot myself)
but yes, attached with super strong glue. the mohair i use cant be rooted, i think. can always try though

Nyuu ish okie .3. I guess I am torn between actually buying the dolls
as a collector. Since in my blood I was always about collecting and preserving.
Or buying the dolls to enhance her .3.
They're very pretty dolls and it'll take a lot of bravery for me to change
her up. LIke.. I don't want to file off the bolts. Or change the hair

a) How do you use to erase the face (some people suggest acetone but I am afraid cause it's a kind of expensive doll xD)
b) Do you need to spray anything pre-painting her face up ^_^
c) Have you ever repeated a face up several times?
d) All in all how many frankie's did you buy XD
:3 Would you buy the less basic one if you wanted to preserve the hair?
e) Do you think buying the doll for both collecting and
customizing reasons is farfetched?

She's my first monster high but I am very tempted to switch her up with
school's out *_* or return and think later. Would you buy a dolly even if you had no plan, for customization.
What if there was a non-basic version of the doll like Spectra.
