"I'M AN OWL GHOST AND I'M GONNA NOM YOU."
That's beautifully sketched & creepy.

Oh man oh man, thank you! That really means a lot coming from you actually, I adore the hell out of your sketches.

;-; Seriously thanks man.
I had a lot of fun designing this guy, although the premise was pretty simple. "Well... I like owls... and I like ghosts. .... HEEEEEEEY. 8D"

8D I love the design. x3 Forgive me for being in a massive Miyazaki mood, but it reminds me of No-Face and that makes me giggle. (as well, it reminds me of some traditional Japanese shenanigans)
:3 Are these just sketches or do they hold a role for something?

Hey, all the time is a good time to be in a Miyazaki mood. I love No Face and while I wasn't actively thinking of him when I made these guys, I definitely take a lot of inspiration from him in general.
I'm not sure, actually. I designed them with Silent Hill in mind but I have yet to decide if any monsters of my own design besides Decay will show up in "Blackbirds". If I don't use them there, though, I'll probably find something else to do with them because I like how they came out too much to just let 'em languish.

GLORIOUS SPIRIT OWL BABIES.
Thanks, man! And oh man I love owls so much, I wish I had some near my house. ... Well, only if they were the hooting kind, I don't think I'd want the 'dying-woman-scream' kind.
I was thinking about SH monsters and kind of came up with these-- I don't actually know what (or if) I'll use them for yet. But I like how the design came out so I'll probably find SOME use for them.

Hmmmmm... yeeesss... the 'dying-woman-scream' kind DO sound unpleasant, possibly *raises eyebrow and rubs chin thoughtfully*
YES. THEY ARE COOL.

XD HAHA yeah like
One summer I went to camp for awhile
And heard my first owls
In the middle of the night
Like on the roof of the cabin
I did not sleep.

This is just like that one part in Fantasia where there was this big block-thing that lumbered up to the viewer in time to some off-sounding cello strings. It genuinely scared me, but I kept watching it over and over as a kid.
Now it's ingrained into my mind like some kind of odd self-mind-rape, and I'm still deeply disturbed by it.
Awesome job. Now the christmas tree will look like a disembodied owl ghost out of the corner of my eye.
I think I just scared myself a little.

XD Whoa I don't remember that part of Fantasia. Which part was that?
And hahaha awww I'm sorry I scared you!
THEY'RE FRIENDLY OWL GHOSTS. DOES THAT MAKE IT BETTER?

Found it! [link]
8:00 is when the creepy part starts. Apparently the block was moving away, but still...
FRIENDLY YOU SAY? O:

XD! Oh man, I totally forgot about that. I can see why that would be pretty scary to a kid though, I had a lot of similarly innocuous but somehow-eerie things that I fixated on and was terrified of when I was little.
VERY FRIENDLY.
THEY JUST WANT TO BE LOVED.

EVERYONE ENJOYS OWLS.
EVEN HELL OWLS.
I adore the way you did the little heart-shaped faces of the Barn owls. They transition well and unnaturally into the shroud and it's just awesome. Something about a misplaced owl head just freaks me the fuck out and I love it.

Thanks, man! Barn owls are like... how could something be so adorable and yet so eerie at the same time? IDK.
