i had to do some explanations cause it wasnt clear enough 
i just drew my fav parts of this scene,Taki: The Pain ><... I can Still remember it. My wings TOTALLY opened my back! theyre so big!

The Ikrys clan has a horrible ritual, when the children are 5 years, they cut their back up and forces the wings out. The wings aren't fully developed then but they grow stronger than normal when its done that way! But its very very painful.
Ikrys killed one of the clan nurses during the fight to hold Ikrys down in the ground, she was very angry because of the pain

But the most horrible in Ikrys' clan is that they are just 5 year old kids so their skin/fur is very weak and many kids have died during the attempt to force their wings out

oh that's horrible! Taki was only 17 when he developped his wings, but usualy demons from my world develop them when they are 4 years old

The few children born within the clan is very vunerable when they are young, their body prepares for a massive change when their power harness and they become powerful warriors. That happens in the age of 7.
When Ikrys broke the rules of the clan and left alone into a human world, her body was weak. Normally she could not be affected by a gunshot, but since she was only 6, her body had not harnessed the power and that made her vunerable, and she couldn't dodge or resist the gunshot.
