Description Okay, so it probably wasn't really sad, but the shot really seems like it's sad, eh?

I'm not quite sure what sort of bird it is. It looked kinda like a crow, but I don't think it was one. It was pretty big and make a strange noise that I don't think I've ever heard a bird make before, although I can't recall what it sounded like exactly.

I was so happy when I got this shot! I actually really like it and am pretty proud... (I've been pretty happy with my work lately and that's a bit weird for me)

This shot also inspired a crappy short story that I wrote when I was all sad and depressed. XP

Taken at The Grand Canyon (seriously). I fixed up the picture by turning up the contrast a little bit in Photoshop because my camera sucks. (It's so bad now, that I have to slap it to get the lens to come out)


Edit: People are telling me that it's a raven.

Thanks a lot! Heh, yeah, I wasn't sure what it was. I agree, they appear to look very similar. Most people seem to think it was a raven, so that's what I have been calling it.

A gorgeous raven photo. From the thumb on Roocats Journal entry "Wild things..."; I couldn't tell if it was a paintings. The Grand Canyon had this water motion feel to it. It's a great capture!

wow this is such an amazing picture!!
i absolutely love ravens and crows!!
your capture is amazing; the moment is an extremely emotive one as is the pose and light!
the shine off the back of the crow is beautiful!!
i love it how ravens seem a darker black than most other things...
