Description
My 3D printed Kino arrived
The next step is to make moulds of the two parts and cast the inner sphere in fibreglass and the outer sphere in clear resin..
I've added the .STL files for this model to the premium content download

I downloaded the files but something is missing. I have the "cage" that goes around part of the Kino, and the "clear" sphere. There is no layer behind the Kino "cage" like in your picture

I just checked the file..
I tried to make new stl files from the 3D model, I forgot the inside sphere was in two parts, sorry about that. I found the original stl files so I'll replace them here. Can I email the replacement to you?

That would be awesome. and two parts is great, makes it easier for painting. I will post a link when I finish the project.
You can email them to charles.childress@bellsouth.net Let me know when you do, so it doesn't get blocked for any reason. If not, one complete file. will work as I can edit it or try and print as a single object.

I modelled the Kino as two parts (well four since it's only a half sphere) because it made it easier to build, but the outer layer of detail intersects with the main part, a lot. Which isn't so good for printing..

The silicone is for making moulds. The fibreglass is so I can cast both sides of the inner sphere. The clear resin is for the outer shell, so I can see through it
