Ah, o.k. I think I get it...in other words it's a snapshot of the scene a second after the impact of the kick!
I guess you are right: Now the defender has the opportunity to break the balance of his opponent. High kicks are kind of risky. If they connect they can do great damage but if they don't...

Having studied Martial Arts (various styles and a lot of years) I completely agree with the comments made by ' FantasyAndSFFan'!
Wether it be a 1/4 of a second, a split second or the blink of an eye, these captured stances on both guys are lacking. The guy on the left would be flat on his back in real life - if he executed that kick, the way its shown here, in a Dojo (he is so wide open to a testicle punch, a leg sweep etc. etc.) and, the guy on the right would be on the floor, or staggering unballanced, because he's just been kicked off balance; due to the fact there is no defensive power behind his weak, limp and low hand/arm position. Most people however would not know any of this so, its not so greatly important here on DA.
What was important.....for me!
The first thing that caught my eye was how good the quality of your photo was (all of your work) but how could it be used when the potential user has no clear image to work with i.e.
1) Guy on right cropped half out, thus seriously limiting the outcome of manipulation/positioning for final idea.
2) The guy on left unusable as a solo subject; unless you have the skills to photoshop the the other guy out and create the missing leg area.
3) Way to many shadows; which again will limit the outcome of what you wish to do.
A great shame as you are obviously able to take superb quality photos but sadly included all the little things that (to me at least) make them unsable or greatly limited in the way they can be used! Never the less, I shall revisit your portfolio again to find something I think I may be able to create from but, for now, I say thankyou very much for your ideas, the time and the effort you take to do said work

Hi there ^^
Γ€hm...
1.: I am the guy on the left. I am not the photographer.
2.: this was not a photo shoot for fighting poses... we just made some pictures for fun while changing clothes.
3.: this photo was not taken in real movement... we just tried some unusual fixed poses for photos...
4.: because of that the photo is named a "test".
Besides, what I always say: This is "deviant Art". If something is usual, correct, typical, normal, standard etc... this is the wrong place for it. I upload "correct" pictures on other platforms... dA only gets deviant stuff.
Thank you for taking time to analyse my picture.

Takes some serious training for a guy to kick that high, good form too. Excellent action shot.

That's a test image? Good.
Dynamics are good (and that's hard to do right), but it needs more light. Unless you're going for a silhouette look, because in that case it's perfect.

Great poses, I wish the guy on the right was completely in the shot too. It's really great though!
