Description I'm not sure if I have ever uploaded a b&w macro before...

This image for some reason reminded me of those old "classic" b&w films where some estranged participant in the movie is out on the ledge of a high rise building while the spot lights of what looks as if a hundred squad cars plays across the person. Just add the sounds of busy downtown traffic and cabs honking their horns.

I don't normally do black and white but this seemed one of those images
that just present much better without the colors I usually work with

It's cool! I like how the light falls on the feather.

Thank you

The lighting really does look so much better in b&w than it did in its original color. It certainly allows the focus to be more on the drop.

Wait a minute here.... Mayumi did you just say "it's cool"?

That is sooo cool!!

Sometimes I'm very repetitive ... so I need to research new words! I have 10 words in Portuguese (my mother tongue) that can mean "beautiful". Strangely, it makes me wonder I know few words in other languages.

Well use "cool" anytime as it fits most situations

What language is spoken in Brazil?

Here we use Portuguese, but I risk a little of Japanese, Spanish, German, Italian and French (very little of each).

I have a coworker who immigrated from Brazil and the Mexican speaking coworkers were complaining one day how hard it was to understand hime sometimes. And I said its because he speakes portuguese and they said no they speak Spanish in Brazil.

I used to speak German when I was like 4 or 5 years old, learned a little of spanish for a business trip to Spain back in the late 80's. My problem is speaking the language out loud. I can read it well enough or could for a while but you forget if you don't practice it once in a while.

I've always wanted to learn Japanese and possibly Korean as well
My daughter in law wants to teach me Russian

Most Brazilians don't speak Spanish, but can read very well because of the similarity between languages. Perhaps different pronunciations hinder understandings. I lived in southern Brazil, due to the proximity to Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay (Spanish-speaking countries), we used to hear "nuestros hermanos" (neighbors).

Aha! I bet your mother had a German root (once you said she taught you embroidery!). I know Japanese because of my family (Japanese immigrants).

Not bad learn Russian! I know Russians who write English very well, but no English-speaking people who know Russian.

I just walked past the guy from Brazil speaking with one of the warehouse guys from Mexico. Just looking at their faces you realize they are having a tough time understanding the one from Brazil. He just stops and restates everything in english and they all just smile and nod their heads understand.

It's interesting that if you listen carefully there is a distinct difference in how some of the words are pronounced between the two languages.
Maybe I notice because when I learned spanish for a business trip to Spain I learned what is called Castilian which is very different from Mexican.

Yes my mother was first generation american as her parents came over from Germany in the beginning of the 20th century.  Unlike my fathers side, scot/irish, we can trace my moms
side all the way back to Hamburg Germany 1612.

My biggest problem with speaking anything other than amer. english is that I can't roll the "r"s like you need to.
