Initially, I want to begin by saying that this art piece was started before the official announcement was made about Microsoft buying Blizzard or the mention of # SeaOfThievesCommunityDay. In fact, the outfit you see Sneaky Pete wearing, I began carefully fitting to him on the 4th. As for the art piece itself, it was started on the 11th.

Along with the Sea of Thieves community day, apparently, creative players can be nominated for a chance to be awarded the "Hat of Unfeasibly Glorious Fame" during the event. This piece will be shared on my art Twitter with the #BeMorePirate hashtag. Not sure if it is fair to nominate myself, though? Not only was this piece of art started before the official announcement of the community day, but I have been merely playing the game itself since July of 2021. 😅

"Sea of Petes" was created to pay tribute to two of my favorite games, "World of Warcraft" and "Sea of Thieves." All that I can state is, SoTs distinctive clothing not solely looks gosh darn sexy on Pete, but it complements him. Primarily this was going to be posted right after completion, but then I learned of the first-ever Sea of Thieves community day happening on the 30th. What more suitable time to reveal such a piece than closer to the event, right?

To make posing of the jacket's bottom easier, a rig was carefully constructed. Ordinarily, the bottom of the jacket is positioned by me carefully manipulating the mesh in edit mode. What I constructed for this worked like a dream, the same rig will directly be applied to Pete's usual blue trench coat as well.

I immensely enjoyed working with the Sea of Thieves assets and undoubtedly have genuine respect for the TLC that goes into the models. Hopefully, this art of mine pays proper tribute to a game that both my friend and I enjoy playing immensely.
