Yes. Batman was kinda-sorta-maybe-notreally-half-dead after getting shot by Darkseid's Omega Beams. The Four Robins fought for the Cape and Cowl in Battle For The Cowl. Jason beat Tim Drake and Damian Wayne really hard and Grayson procceded to wreck his shit all over Gotham. Grayson became the new Batman with Damian as his Robin. They had a lot of interesting adventures together, magificently done by Grant Morrison. Damian became a better person and Dick proved himself as a great Batman... until Burce was brought back to life.

It's much better than it sounds. Dick had to face a lot of problems. One of them was a new psycho who was even worse than Joker: James Gordon Jr., Barbara's murderous little brother. Completely emotionless and psychotic, he might not be as crazy as the Joker... but he's certainly creepier and more disturbing. The full storyline is from the award-winning comic Batmsn: The Black Mirror.
The New Dynamic Duo of Grayson snd Damian was super popular with the fans. So much so that some seriously thought that Grayson should remain as Gotham's Batman! Then New 52 happened and it was all retconned out of existance. Now Gotham's Batman is... James Gordon...The old guy... Screw you, DC.
That's about it. These are the highlights of Dick being Batman. Seems the First Boy Wonder proved himself more than worthy of the respect he gets. If you got any other questions, I'll be sure to answer them as best as I can.

Yes and no. There are 2 Batman now. One for Gotham (Gordon) and one for the Justice League (Bruce).
Buuuuuuuut now Batman isn't in the Justice League anymore because he's a New God. Imagine a Batman as powerful as Darkseid.
Which sucks, because the reason we love Batman in the first place is because he's a mortal human. I hope that doesn't last long.

I actually like that idea.
But making him into a "new god" doesn't make sense. That just ruins everything.

I think Bats was appointed that seat. I don't think he intends to keep it for very long.
Still, the idea of having two Batmen is kinda cool. Though personally, I'd prefer if one of his sons would be Gotham's guardian. Maybe they could introduce Terry (Batman Beyond) a bit earlier.

You've missed out my friend. DC recently relaunched their comic book series with the New 52, and Bruce is back as Batman, but you should check out Grant Morrison's run on the "Batman & Robin" comics, it's fantastic. Seriously, I thought I'd never like a rendition of Batman & Robin that wasn't Bruce Wayne and Tim Drake, but it kicked all sorts of ass with Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne!!
This all must be news to you, but yes...Batman has long, long, rich history - definitely worth looking into if you're interested. If nothing else, wikipedia it!
