Now that you used a long exposure anyways, why not use a bigger diafragma? like f22 or higher? Or was your sole purpose to get the bottom of the lake in focus?

It was pitch black and I needed all the light I could get. couldn't get the focus where I wanted either because of the crappy lens I had so I did decide to shoot for the bottom.
