I just checked out your works putting Bruce Lee into these awesome Shang Chi covers.
All are well done, but this one really stands out. Excellent work.
I hope you were able to get those back issues and enjoy some of the brilliant art and stories.
In addition to the great Gulacy (MOKF 29-50) and Zeck (71-100), check out the Gene Day issues (101-120). Different style, but pretty stunning.

REALLY appreciate that comment and thanks for taking time out to write it. Got to admit that I never got around to getting those back issues but I will... one day. Ideally, I'd get a Marvel Essentials style book reprinting the series in black and white (which highlights the artwork for me) but I know I never found one. Any trades reprinting the series that I could find were going for extortionate prices so I did stop looking. I know I will go back one day though to get them.
Got to admit too that I wasn't aware of the Gene Day issues (I know... my head's hung in shame) but I've just had a look online at some of his Shang Chi artwork and from what I've found it's stunning. so those will be going on my back issue Want List too.

Really awesome work channeling Big John Buscema, he was one of my favorite artists along with Jack Kirby. I remember when Shang Chi came out in 74, it was an awesome comic! It got even better when Paul Gulacy took it over, as he drew Shang Chi to resemble Bruce Lee. Anyway Phillip this is really great work!

Hello Lpsalsaman. Really appreciate the feedback and thanks a lot for taking the time out to comment. Only really discovered Bruce Lee in the last year and have only really been looking at the art from Shang Chi is the last three months; definitely some comic art I need to invest in with Gulacy and Zeck doing the interiors. As they're both artists I love, I was surprised I hadn't known sooner that they had worked on the series. Think I'll be turning to eBay to get some back issues. Thanks again for the comment!

Phil, your welcome! Wow so you have never heard of Bruce Lee!? Then you need to really read about him, because he was a great martial artist if not the greatest! After the initial run of Shang Chi with John Buscema, Paul Gulacy took over and I remember seen the first comic by him with Shang Chi looking like Bruce Lee. The art was so awesome, the veins on Shang Chi the backgrounds were so detailed! Anyway I'm sure you can probably find the initial run from 74 to 1982 or 84. After that the comic got slowly put away and Shang Chi was use sparingly when needed.
So keep up the great work and study up Bruce, then Gulacy and Zeck as they did an awesome job. Take it easy!

Thanks for all that Lpsalsaman! I knew of Bruce Lee but had never seen him in action; once I did, I was hooked. I'll definitely be looking out for those comics as well. Big BIG fan of Paul Gulacy.
