A rather bleak and moody seascape here, but there is beauty also in grey days.. This was an attempted seascape in muted colours but as I went along I had a few ideas to make it a bolder painting, but after lots of playing about I felt they didn't quite suit the feel I was going for. So I went with plan C, seagulls (or pasty thieves if you prefer
) Β these birds are getting a lot of flak these days for being pests, but I like them personally, and at least some animals are thriving in this human dominated world. I can just imagine their mournful cries on this bleak day by the sea..
This was painted using acrylic paint on A3 galeria paper.

Well it looks like these seagulls are having a fine time flying through the air in this time of day. Even with the signs of bad weather.

Very atmospheric, I like moody skies often more than sunny clear ones, maybe because the weather here is usually overcast and rainy! You did the pasty thieves beautifully too (I always guard my food carefully now since one nicked my pasty in Padstow.)

Thank you very much! yes I think moody skies are more interesting too. You must never let your guard down with seagulls, somehow I've managed to avoid any seagull pasty raiding incidents so far, haha!
